If you haven't already guessed, I’m the face (and heart) behind the lens at Tara Courtney Photography.

I’m so glad you’re here, and I truly hope our paths cross in person soon.

I’m a proud mum of four beautiful children and a self-taught natural light photographer based in the charming rural town of Gayndah, Queensland, famously known as Australia’s citrus capital. My journey into photography began back in high school, capturing our livestock and landscape with nothing more than an old Nokia phone. What started as a simple creative outlet has grown into a deep passion and, eventually, a fulfilling career.

As a mum, I know how quickly time passes. Life moves fast, and those fleeting moments with our little ones are priceless. That’s why I started documenting the everyday beauty of my own family’s life, those genuine, unfiltered memories. I first shared my photos on my personal Facebook, and before I knew it, friends and family were asking me to capture their special moments too. And just like that, Tara Courtney Photography was born.

Photography, for me, is more than just a profession, it’s a heartfelt calling. I’m passionate about helping families freeze time, so they can relive the laughter, love, and connection that makes life meaningful. Especially for us mums, so often we are the ones behind the camera. I want to make sure you’re in the memories too.

With my camera always close by, I aim to document life’s real moments: the quiet ones, the chaotic ones, and everything in between! These images become timeless treasures, allowing you to hold onto the little details long after the moment has passed.
